But trust me, you did NOT want what it was a couple of years ago.
Imagine the old American Gladiators with half the charm, and the Gladiators did pro-wrestling smack-talk to the contestants. That was the "new" American Gladiators a couple of years back. It was a disgrace.

Being a proud American who also watched the show growing up, I had that same attitude towards the remake. Then, on YouTube, I watched the original British version (simply titled Gladiators) versus the newer one, and it was the same disappointment. But you can't blame them for trying again. I was glad, though, to see sort of a local winner, as one contender taking on the American Gladiators came from Branson, MO. (I live in Joplin, MO.)
Who doesn't? I just have to remember that the two countries use different names. We called it Joust, you Brits called it Duel. We called it Assault, you called it Danger Zone. We both called it the Eliminator. I don't think we Americans had the Hang Tough event at first, though.
