Seeking knowledge and tomes, Jordan visits a mansion near a large city. The owner is rich but also known as a bit of recluse, mostly interacting with the outside world through his servants. Upon first visiting, the servants did much middle-manning until eventually their hidden master offered lunch, and a day’s stay, and access to the archives. Eagerly agreeing, Jordan left for his supplies at the inn and returned for lunch.
After being guided to his new guest quarters and stashing his stuff, Jordan finally meets the owner… to meet a fat as hell wolf. He’s not against conversation, but he seems more interested in food… through sparse dialogue, Jordan learns the owner was a former mage who got rich with his magical exploits, and settled down to retire. Why he chose to retire at such a young age is never answered. He’s eager for Jordan to learn magic, and is quite encouraging. The pudgy rat chef seems a little annoyed, which he attributes to the large feasts the owner is always asking for.
Visiting the archives and pouring through books, Jordan is excited to discover a plentiful amount of rare and powerful spells within the tomes! But as he continues, he decides to investigate into his host… something about his girth and story sitting wrong with him. After “accidentally” opening a secret study area, Jordan is shocked to discover a tome detailing food magics, and that his gracious host has been cursed by one of his staff! Lethargy, hedonism, suggestibility... someone was manipulating the retired magician!
So, Jordan begins exploring the mansion, trying to find who’s responsible. Instead, he accidentally discovers the rich wolf has a harem of fat boys, all as big or larger than him! Grilling them gives no answers… they’re too lazy and gluttonous to answer, or consider Jordan beneath him. This is rather strange, as one who says as much is clearly a simple guard based upon what he’s willing to divulge and his sparse attire!
Feeling exhaustion creep on from running all over the large mansion, the feline decides he needs to cut straight to the source and investigate the kitchen. There he catches the chef enchanting the dinner meal! Jordan confronts him, magic at the ready, but the rat is rather smug and barely phased. He affirms that while it was his doing, it was because the owner couldn’t kick his adventuring habits to properly retire, and the magic was to help him relax. Despite how flimsy the excuse is, Jordan finds himself oddly convinced… and then the rat offers dinner early. One hungry growl from his stomach, and Jordan’s fate is sealed~ Each bite pushes off his findings a little further into obscurity… until eventually, he can’t imagine himself leaving~
Better to keep what he's learned to himself, the food and lifestyle was too good to pass up... or so the chef tells him. He's a guest of royalty, he should live like it! That's what the chef tells him, and it sounds so right. The wolf will pay for everything, he may as well stay and retire... what a lovely idea fromthe chef Jordan! What's wrong with a little hedonism? He's earned it after all this years of hard work! Yeah, yeah! Join the harem, those big furs had the right idea all along.
And so Jordan retires, living every day like this, indulging himself and his hungry belly, thrall to his hedonism and lethargy. It'll be hard to think for yourself with the chef whispering in your ear... giving you so many good ideas of your own.
This was a demo gift of a non-Pokemon lion form, while also teasing about corruption and such. I forced the red, it doesn't look the best but progress is an iterative process. Also why it's not in the intros/refs folder, this isn't yet how I want a lion form to be represented. The rune was Aster's idea, iirc it means "fat" and shows off the curse Jordan is under~ A passion project for Aster, a passionate brainstorming session for me!
Another 'project artwork!' I almost wrote the blurb from memory... but then I remembered I already wrote up a whole outline when this art was being worked on. Though I couldn't help but embellish with an extra paragraph at the end.
