I've always been a hardcore gamer. But that also means I don't play games like this myself. My fave genres are typically Metroidvanias and Souls likes, though I do often dabble in competitive Smash and bullet hell games from time to time.

I've never been one to fall for microtransactions, pay to win, loot boxes or any other form of money spinning scheme.
At most, I would buy a skin if I really liked the game, the skin, and it's reasonably priced... However, I have yet to do even that!
(If I had jumped on board with SF6 competitively, I would almost certainly have got the classic costumes).
