Short story - Shoe Shopping

After Legoshi having now dropped out of Cherryton Academy and dealt with Melon. He is finding his own way through life in the real world. This means that instead of wearing the same old uniform he wore day in and day out. He gets to wear what he wants! Opting for loose, comfortable clothing that he can afford.

One issue has been annoyingly persistent in Legoshi’s life in that he cannot, for the life of him, find a shoe store that stocks shoes past size 13. With the majority of the population having the average shoe sizes of 9-12, Legoshi has been stuck wearing the same old worn-down pair of sports sneakers he’s had since his time in the academy.

A few months prior, his friendly neighbour, Ms. Sebun, offered to buy some shoes for the Wolf since she knew he wasn’t doing well financially. But he also knew his old pair reeked when they were left outside of his apartment door. But as luck would have it, due to some of her workplace bullies arriving and a few confident but misplaced actions, Legoshi missed out on his chance to get a pair of free sneakers. Albeit after having spent nearly half an hour in the store browsing for his size, he came up short a few sizes.

Today, Legoshi takes it upon himself to buy some new shoes. But after visiting store after store, the same constant issue haunts him. Size 20 shoes are not all too common.

Taking a seat within the fifth store he’s visited, he takes the opportunity to let his soles breathe. Legoshi wasn’t unhygienic by any means, but with him being a canine, there was a distinct “musky” smell that wafted from his body. Even more so from his feet!

Undoing the shoelaces and peeling back the tongue so his foot can easily slide out, Legoshi feels his clammy sole unpeel from the deeply worn and totally imprinted insole. Choosing not to wear socks out of comfort, Legoshi lets out a sigh of relief as he feels the cool, air-conditioned breeze blow through his toes and across his sole.

Almost visible steam slowly rises from the wolf’s tender feet as he ideally spreads his toes. He plants them down onto the cool shop floor and holds them there for around 10 seconds, letting the brisk flooring cool his heated tread.

Peeling each off, which leaves two visible prints, Legoshi rests his hand on his chin and idly spreads and clenches his toes gently.

Thinking to himself:
“Mmmf~ It feels SO good to let my feet breathe finally! I hope the smell isn’t too strong. Oops! I can’t believe how musky my feet get when I go barefoot in these sneakers… I wonder if they even HAVE shoes MY size.

After sitting down for 10 minutes, a female impala shop floor assistant tepidly approaches Legoshi and says

“Excuse me, sir… The store is closing; now it’s time to leave. And, um, could you put your shoes back on?”

Legoshi quickly is snapped back to reality and apologises and quickly slips his feet back in his shoes so fast he doesn’t even have time to tie the laces up before apologising again and making his way back home.

Still without a new pair of shoes…

I’m really happy with this commission usually I don’t get things that don’t feature my character(s) but since Season 3 (Part 1) of Beastars failed immensely by NOT having the Legoshi foot-shot in the Anime when he was shopping with Ms. Sebun I felt like I had to do something~
