Oh my Gawd, that was 14 years ago...
This was my very first alien creature Giger's style ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/534925/ is one of the few others I did after), at a time when, of course, Alien IV the movie wasn't even a rumor... There has been an alien queen in Aliens, why not an alien king I thought ?
Pic not cleaned to preserve all the details and nuances. I am still very proud of this one, and probably will be till death, it clearly shows how much I have been able to master a simple black ball point pen at the age of 21...

Very nice. You even have a Giger-esque hint of alien schlong. I know this was done before Eva, but the face is eerily similar to the flying Angels.
In canon, there would never be a xenomorph king for the queen - at least, not one that looks like this. As a species, they didn't have males, unless you count the face-huggers. Imagine getting a faceful of alien wing-wong (as VG Cats so aptly put it) from the face-hugger counterpart to the Alien queen. It'd probably be overpowered enough to worm its way all the way through and lay eggs in the guy behind you.

*puts on Xenomorph nerd hat*
If you read the novels, there's mention of 'kings', or breeding males. They generally reporduce asexually, but sometimes they produce males to mix up the gene pool. (according to the books) The queen gathers them all in her chamber, where they fight eachother to the death. She then takes the survivor and procedes to beat the ever-loving shit out of him, throwing him against walls and ripping off limbs. If he makes it out alive, she 'lets' him mate, then she like eats his face or something....
No pictures though :P *awaits Alien mating pop-up Golden Book*

Wonderful, marvelous piece and something I'd wondered about in the movies' :>
Figured they'd always just eaten the possible 'king' right after a single necessary mating, but that'd make the Aliens a very -very- wasteful species (after blowing a whole body on an egglaying device).
*anyways* Love his lines, and your penwork's incredible :> Like to see a modernized version of him :>

YESSS !!! And blood too, that is a FANTASTIC idea... What an incredible self-defense system, don't you think ? We already got acids in our stomachs, why not as blood ? Some of our creatures do got violent poisons in their blood, or can throw very aggressive acids, so it's not an idea that crazy after all...

That was the actual action figure version released back in the 80's.

You see them for only a short minute, when Ripley threaten the Alien queen to destroy the eggs. They are the aliens who are on the sides and who pulls back at this time.
On others notes, the books shows aliens workers, who are much less ferocious and dangerous aliens, who have for job only to care for the eggs and feeding, they appears only when the colony is quite big.
Or the aquatics aliens, talented swimmers you see them for a minute, in alien 4. Some books had the Alien Rhino, with a really big head with a big shell. Last and most dangerous alien ever reported was the Predalien...

Bah... Je préfère cette version non re-travaillée. Ça me parait plus « authentique » ! :)
Quant à mon alienenette... Heu...

Heh heh, super thanks !! ^^ Indeed, I've done with a friend a portfolio many years ago, and this one was part of it !
How old am I ? You know that's not a question to ask a boy ?! Errr... that's for a girl, sorry ^^'' Well, don't freak, but in just a month and a half, I'll be 35 already... though I never really went over 20 in my mind XD
Getting paid ? Not at all !! That's only for pleasure that I draw, I just COULDN'T do such things if it was for a job !!!!!!
