WWII Veteran Tsutomu Tesu, also known as Old Tsutomu.

Died January 18, 2025, at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

He died of Leukemia and Organ Failure at the age of 123.

He joined the Japanese Army in 1919, and served until the wars end in 1945, he had served for 26 years.

Old Tsutomu is also being remembered for being a survivor of the Bombing of Tokyo which happened during that time.

Old Tsutomu was widowed in 1994 following the death of his wife Niyoshi from Lung Cancer.

He was also the first oldest family member to reach 100 years in 2001.

He had been diagnosed with Leukemia in 2010, but he got treatment.

He remained alive until the cancer came back 15 years later.

And this time, it claimed his life.

Rest in peace, Tsutomu.

2025年1月18日、シドニーのプリンス・オブ・ウェールズ病院で死去。

123歳で白血病と臓器不全で死去。

1919年に日本軍に入隊し、1945年に戦争が終わるまで26年間従軍。

ツトム・テスは、当時起こった東京大空襲の生存者としても記憶に残っています。

ツトム・テスは、妻ニヨシが肺がんで亡くなった後、1994年に未亡人となりました。

また、2001年には家族で初めて100歳を迎えました。

2010年に白血病と診断されましたが、治療を受けました。

15年後にがんが再発するまで生き続けました。

そして今回は、それが彼の命を奪いました。
