Hmm..... The guy is obviously in pain, most likely mentally. He feels as if he cannot have the courage to leave this world, but he has to. He cannot say goodbye, for it would only make things worse. He doesent want anything to happen to him to make him change his mind, for he has made a choice.

My answer is... a child with nothing in his life. All he can look up to is fantasy, like the moon. He sees no other way of escaping reality from its torture than to die, but he still has things he loves so much he would die to protect it. He knows nobody would care, except for one person, and that's what's causing him to have so much difficulty and pain, but in the end, he thinks he'll save what he treasures by dying and dies.
