In Schools it's "helping the neighbors" week, where the students of the lower grades essentially serve community service in town and help the neighbors out.
Abby and Ruby were assigned to help out at the local temple. They received nice clothes and were tasked to clean the yard with a broom. However, the girls were worried about a surprise demon attack and the fact that their broom wouldn't serve much protection at all. So, they had to make a few changes to it.
Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. They were being yelled at because converting a broomstick into a spear was way to dangerous for the two kids, not to mention the use of a sharp knife and the mess they created.
