January dusk with Cold winter turning suddenly warm;
from - 20 C jumping to warm +10 C for few days
or
from -4 F jump to warm +50 F for few days

Snow melting to slipery and thin ice surfaces on both lakes and roads.

Still the ice was cracking under my light weight close to broken ice sheets, like around that rock - Luckily it was thick enough to walk around in most spots. Just needed to avoid thin black ice
