Bête Glatissante/Questing Beast

This is a creature from Arthurian mythology. It is described as having the head of a snake, the body of a leopard, the paws of a lion and the hooves of a deer. Its origin tells of a princess who was in love with her own brother: a princess was in love with her own brother and had a relationship with a demon who promised her his love. Of course, he deceived her and manipulated her into accusing the boy of rape. He was fed to a pack of dogs by his own father. Before dying, he announced to his sister that she would give birth to a monster whose cries would be as loud as those of the dogs that killed him. The beast is a symbol of incest, violence and chaos. Arthur met the beast after having a vision of the destruction of his kingdom, following his relationship with his half-sister who would give birth to Mordred. The Questing Beast would actually be a giraffe.

La Bête Glatissante serait en réalité une girafe.
