This piece was actually completed July of last year! It was originally for a selfship zine a friend of mine was hosting, but the zine in question ended up not going through so we were given the okay to post our work publicly! I chose Shane from Stardew Valley.
This character actually helped me get over a small but impactful piece of my trauma; I used to hate the name Shane (if you know, you know; if you don't, you don't need to) and while I understand why Shane as a character can put people off - he's a prick when you first meet him - I rather enjoy the idea of Shane and the farmer both growing into better people alongside each other. More of a "we can do this together" than an "I can fix him" scenario for me personally.
