Shiny eyes, a big surprise. Don't lick him, he's not lemon lime!
This was one of what will end up being many commissions for
chayfox. This one in particular is for his story Artificial Nine, which you can click here to read! He's gonna have the rest up by the end of this month, too~

So he's not lemon-lime...I still pegged him as sour apple!
...Okay, maybe 'pegged him' is a poor word choice, but..dangit, it's to the point where anything I say is going to turn out to be a double entendre of some sort of another! Why do his eyes glow? How do you see with glowy eyes? I tried that glowing visor thing with a helmet once, and I couldn't see a damned thing!

I would assume the glow provides enhanced light for night vision, providing him with more color and less of a black and white thing. More cones used and less rods if I remember my eyesight junk right.

(Of course now I wonder if there's another, legitimate, reason XD)

....*shakes his head sadly.* The glow from his eyes, being brighter than any other lightsource, would actually be all that he sees if his eyes attempt to adjust to the darkness. If they don't, they're still all he sees.

It's not shining in the eye, it's shining from the eye. As in outward. Like the way one might use a normal flashlight. But I see your point.
Still, it's not too far fetched to assume there's something special about the individuals vision that makes it work. Especially if the eyes are always like that.
Regardless, it makes more sense than Tails being able to fly
