Recipe Time - Pork Chops with Mixed Veggies & Rice....
Another time for Recipe Time. This time, I shall tell you about the rather average pork chops I made (have yet to try as of this sentence, but will in a few mins.) I will also put the "recipe" for the pork chop stuff I am going to try next time which is a bit different.
Basically, I took two pork chops out of my freezer and defrosted them in the microwave (As for me it was a "I'm hungry and I actually feel like cooking for once".
So, I defrosted the 2 pork chops & set them on the cutting baord and too a tenderizer hammer and hammered it a bit on both sides to flatten it a touch.
I then took a bowl and added mostly flour, with a decent amount of pepper as well as some garlic granules (the pepper & Garlic stuff, gotten at the 99 cent store).
I then mixed up this powdery mixuture with my hand a bit and then began to coat the pork chops on both sides with this mixture.
I took my pan & put the temp on high. I added some cooking oil (use what you want, but make sure it is enough to evenly coat the bottom of the pan)
Place your pork chops onto the pan and cover with a lit (If it is a bit vented, that would be ideal so the top doesn't try coming off the pot from pressure and worry ya.)
Keep an eye on the bottom and once it looks crispy and well done enough, flip it onto the other side.
Wait until that side looks well cooked as well & then put onto plate.
I won't go into how to cook rice I don't think. You basically boil it on low until it absorbs the water and is done. I cooked a bag that was around 2 cups, so had to use around 4 cups in order to cook all the rice. May have taken me close to 30-50 mins, but I did not keep track of the time. >_<
The mixed veggies were your frozen food section variety. Nuke the bastards, drain and plop onto plate with rice. Add a bt of butter onto rice & veggies (If that is what you enjoy) and then dig in.
For me, when I cook, I usually go on instinct or something, very rarely measuring stuff unless I am specifically told by some recipe I have to.
The "powder Mix" for the porkchops I will be making later has the Flour (Mostly flour) with a decent helping of black pepper, garlic power/granules and a decent amount of Cayenne Pepper Powder. I am going to see if perhaps doing this can add a bit if a kick to the pork chops as well as flavor.
Seems that the pork chops were tasing pretty good. I can taste the black pepper I added to it. Maybe I need to cut back just a touch in the future. Granted, it does taste pretty good as it is. ^_^ But, maybe others would find it a bit too peppery. Who can say as I am not others. XD
Anywho, take care everyone ok?
