Part 1 of a bounty commission about an idea I had where an Ultra Beast from Pokemon came from Ultra Space and decided all the locals were babies that needed pampering. So, you know, look forward to that part next time.

“Welcome to Alola!” The local woman in a floral print dress set a lei of flowers over Leona’s head. “And for you too!” She turned to Legarch and gave him one.
The flowers were barely on the young man;s shoulders before he blurted out: “So where do we see the Ultra Beasts?”
20 minutes and four bags off the luggage rack later, Leona was still facepalming. “Very classy, Leggy.”
“I’m sorry! I got excited!” Legarch fumed. “Ultra Beasts! They’re practically aliens!”
“Go find a Clefairy then, if aliens are all you want.” Leona sighed for what felt like the fourth time in ten minutes. “I invited you on this Alola trip I won because I didn’t want to deal with granny. Don’t make me regret it.”
Legarch chuckled and scratched his head. “Fine, fine… I’ll reel it in.” They waited for their cab to the hotel. “...I just have one request.”
“Arceus damn it…”
“Just one tour in the nearby forest!” Legarch pulled out a pamphlet that looked like he had printed it out at home. “There’s a site nearby where a bunch of sightings happened back when they all showed up at once.”
Leona took a steadying breath. “Fine, one tour. But you are carrying our bags for the rest of the trip!”
“Deal!” One taxi ride later to drop off their stuff at the hotel the pair was at the forest in the pamphlet.
They looked at the almost solid wall of greenery before them. “Hey, you said this was a tour, right? Shouldn’t there be a path? Or a meeting station?” Leona pointed out.
“Umm…” Legarch looked at his printed out map. “I think it’s this way?” He pointed to a slightly less dense patch of the forest.
“You think?”
“Look, it’s an island. If we get lost we’ll just go in a straight line till we hit the beach!” Legarch declared before heading into the clearing. Leona briefly considered letting him go alone, but then she’d have to explain to his mother why he got eaten by wild Pokemon, so she followed after.
“This better be the right way.” She muttered as she moved a branch aside.
As soon as they were out of sight of the road, a van drove by with a sign “Ultra Beast Sighting Tours”, confirming that this was, in fact, NOT The right way. And now we will see how that pans out.

15 minutes of walking, or rather forcing their way through the undergrowth later, the two trainers found a clearing. An empty clearing. “Leggy, I hate to tell you this, but I don’t think this is the tour site.” Leona pointed out in a tone that said she didn’t really hate saying that.
Legarch sighed. “Yeah, okay. Let’s head back to the-”
A rustling in the brush made both trainers spin, hands hovering over their Pokeballs. One of the clerks on the plane had warned them about Pokemon that looked cute but could break trees, and people, by accident. They watched and waited until…
…out popped a little humanoid with a flower for a head.
The two stared at it as it seemed to stare back at them. Finally Leona managed to pull out her Pokedex. “Data not found? But I have the most up to date Pokedex.”
“It’s not a Pokemon?” Legarch noted. “Then it must be an Ultra Beast!” His eyes lit up and he drew closer. The critter, either reacting to his movement or his voice, vanished back into the greenery. “Wait! Come back!” The young man chased after it.
“Wait, Leggy!” Leona groaned in annoyance before following him. The pair chased the little flower thing, barely keeping it in sight as they went deeper and deeper into the forest.
Eventually they entered a new clearing. The little sprite ducked behind a giant flower before peeking out at them. “Easy little guy, I just want a look at you.” Legarch said, inching closer.
“Careful, Leggy!” Leona grabbed his shoulder, holding him back. “That flower looks kinda poisonous.”
I DID look very out of the ordinary compared to the rest of the plant life. The flower was huge, bigger than a Vileplume’s head, and was an odd combination of greens and yellows with a bright orange center. Despite its massive size there didn’t seem to be any kind of smell coming from it. It was basically a giant flower sticking out of the ground on some vines, no leaves or stalks otherwise.
“Huh. It’s the same color as the little guy’s head.” Legarch noted. As the trainers took note of this the ground suddenly gave way beneath their feet. Just opened up for them to fall into. And after a cartoonishly long second of not noticing the ground was gone, they finally fell.
“I should have invited Barry!” Leona griped as she fell.
“FUCK BARRY!” Legarch shot back.
The little flower man they had chased floated over the opening, held aloft by the vine attached to its back. It watched as more vines rolled over the hole, replacing dirt and grass to make it appear like normal earth once again.
Leaving the two foreign trainers trapped, deep in the Alola underground…
