I've always enjoyed pony antics. Of course, the people, they clamor for ponies. Incessant clamoring. When I'm truly inebriated, there are cries for Fluttershy specifically for some reason (she is the best pony, obviously). Other than that, I've tried to avoid drawing pony arts as much as I possibly can!
The internets has really taken the whole thing and run with it. The craze hasn't seemed to die down in the least, even though there haven't been new episodes in two months. I think a lot has to do with the close interaction between the people working on the show and the fan groups, personally.

Well, I watched G1 ponies, so I was vaguely interested in how much of a train wreck the new show would be when I heard it was coming out originally, before the internet made a big deal about it. I don't know if you are aware, but Hasbro has not been kind to this franchise. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised when the answer was "not a trainwreck" after the first four or so episodes, and then I was marginally horrified when the whole thing became some sort of vast internet phenomenon!
Oh, I can see the practical side of ponies! Their base shape is sort of vague and not entirely horselike, and also you've more than proved that they can be turned into most any quadruped! I have a friend that also does custom ponies, and the transformations are always pretty interesting to me.
