A 3D model I finally finished, commissioned by and made for
AuroraBorealis
The model itself and the general layout of this art is based on the original refsheet by

The 14895 scales (yes I manually counted afterwards) were manually sculpted on, almost entirely one by one, though of course I used X axis mirroring for almost all of them. Fun fact: doing scales manually like this takes a LOT of time and effort to align them well, because as soon as you start tiling over curved surfaces, you'll find the pattern collapsing in on itself or stretching apart, and you'll need to break it up, and this creates even more places where two separately tilted/sized tilings clash against each other and aaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
TL;DR i will NOT be doing any kind of full body scale detailing like this again unless someone pays me like $2500 for it lmao
One of the funniest moments when working on this model is using Blender's "center on object" keycombo and it yeets the camera just above the extremely long tail, far away from the body lmao
52262 triangles, 139 bones, 3 materials (well 4 with the credit quad inside, but eh); most textures are baked as 8192x8192 but can be scaled all the way down to 512x512 without artifacting; viseme shapekeys, and a bunch of other fancies; I think I did well lol
Made entirely in Blender.
