Saw my friends doing this particular meme, got inspired and wanted to do it myself. A brief rundown of everyone and why I chose them below
Current favorite: Mufasa (The Lion King)- I'm currently in a Lion King phase and I attribute it to seeing the recent Mufasa prequel (another major guilty pleasure movie of mine) in theaters, so obviously I chose Mufasa of all TLK characters for this spot. I went with his young adult design in TLG to match his younger age in the prequel film
Comfort character: Ruby Rose (RWBY)- a choice that surprises nobody who knows me. Since 2021 Ruby became my comfort character for how much I love the way she tries to stay strong for others even at the cost of her own mental health and trauma, and how she learned to undo that behavior in Volume 9. I just love her sympathetic yet hopepunk aspects of her character
By design: Star (Balto)- I know, oddly specific choice but I mean it when I say I actually like all three of Nikki, Kaltag, and Star's designs that much (though in terms of actual characterization Star is the only one of the trio I like). Anyway I've always liked how cartoony and different they look, yet they still have recognizable husky/sled dog features.
By plot: the Elktaur (Centaurworld)- the Elktaur HAD to be my "by plot" choice because he literally started the plot of the entire show. There's a reason everyone says he's possibly one of the most complex villains in fiction period, everything from his self-loathing to his crush on the Mysterious Woman to how he became the elk, general, AND the Nowhere King all at once. Just, goddamn his story arc was so character-driven
Guilty favorite: Sisudatu (Raya and the Last Dragon)- Possible unpopular opinion but that's why she's here. I know Sisu has always been quite a polarizing character as people call her obnoxious and naive (hell I'm not even a fan of Awkwafina anymore) but Sisu has always just been an appealing character to me. I just can't help loving her optimism, her backstory, her relationship with others, and her sense of humor even though she's forgiving to a fault.
All-time favorite: Mrs. Brisby (The Secret of NIMH)- Again, no surprises here. Mrs. Brisby is literally the perfect example of an empowering character who isn't your typical punchy badass girlboss. She's a simple character, merely a meek little mother mouse, but it's the fact that she goes to such great lengths to protect her family even though she's literally scared out of her mind that makes her strong.
