To those who say death is the end and lament its coming— how wrong they are. She knows this best. A creature who walks the fine line between the living and the dead, her role is clear. To guide those who linger, those who near, and those forgotten to what lay after. Despite such a frightful appearance cloaked in fangs and claws, despite the bad omens that plague the bestial appearance of 'Death', her touch is gentle. Kind.
Grass springs to life underfoot with each step closer, a memorial of flowers among the wilted for a life long past. The corpse is faceless, bones bleach white and forgotten by all but she. There is no spirit that remains for her to guide to an eternal after. But, still, she honors their grave nonetheless. A gentle breath is all it takes for the macabre sight to blossom anew; flowers for the departed.

I thought I had posted this art and gasped when I saw I hadn't! We needed to rectify this right away lol, because look at this beauty. <3 The atmosphere, my goodness. It feels gloomy, almost, with the grey skies and wilted grass. But, still, light glimmers in the distance, and beauty returns to once-desolate lands. Fun fact, but the idea of life springing forward with each step was influenced by Okami!
I will never not shill Yanir lol. She is utterly amazing with bringing my ideas to life with such immense beauty, and I'm incredibly grateful for it.
This is my noodle derg's first art piece, and gosh, what a banger. She has a theme of 'life and death', a guardian of some sort that works as a shepherd for souls. There's certainly more to this with her story that I've spent literal weeks trying to ponder over, but finally, I think I've gotten something decided for her. So, I'm excited to get some more lore art in the future! And a name… because yes, I’m plagued with still not having a name just yet for her :sobs: But soon!
