A newborns Draver foal is being hand fed while medics look after it's mother who has had a rough first pregnancy with twins, which is pretty rare to happen, and the first time giving birth is often the worst for Draver mares. As the second foal is taking a little too long to be born the mother has been moved to the side, still within view of her foal so it can imprint on it's mother and know her scent. (for this reason the human is required to wear a mask and gloves.) but she is not able to feed her foal at the moment so she had some milk extracted for her first born. Normally Dravers give birth at home without much problems, but since this was her first time and with twins they called for medical assistance as a precaution. Like non morph horses the 1-2-3 rule applies to Dravers as well, 1 hour for the foal to stand, 2 hours to nurse and 3 hours for the afterbirth. Ideally the foal should nurse from it's mother directly but it can be bottle fed it's mother's milk when it's mother is unable to. There are two ways for a Draver foal to nurse from it's mother, one is the breasts on the upper torso and the other is the udders on the lower body. Since Dravers typically only have one foal at a time they produce too much milk but a herd typically has more mares with young foals so the mares share in the nursing of the foals which is also good for bonding with the herd for the young foal.
These Draver twins have a rare trait of one half being a solid color in a color that is not from either parent, while the other side of their body has a random pattern as normal, this is aptly called a harlequin pattern, and when it happens with twins they will have the solid color, or "blank" on opposite sides of eachother. This is one of the few uniquely named patterns for Dravers which do not closely resemble patterns seen in horse breeds such as roan and painted. As mentioned before Draver foals are able to stand and walk within an hour after birth which used to be great for survival but in these times it is a pain in the rump for the parents or foal-sitters who have to constantly keep a close eye on the foals so they do not wander too far. Just like the foals the mother is usually pretty mobile not long after birth and ready to get back to work the next day, which used to be the way back in the day but these days the new mother will allow herself some time to rest before going back to work again. This also creates a stronger bond between mother and foal so the foal is less likely to stray too far from it's mother's side. During pregnancy a Draver mare can also stay active quite late into the pregnancy compared to a human due to the taur form being better able to deal with the larger belly and aditional weight, in fact they would only start to have difficulty during the last few weeks so they know when they are due even if the foal will be born a little early with a prediction accuracy of two or four days off. Not quite as accurate as Chakats but still a reliable way to predict the date. Dravers do not have birthing parties like Chakats but they may invite their parents at least or a very close friend to witness the birth, it is only a week later that a formal celebration is held with the rest of the herd (the family) after the mother has had some time to rest and recover.
