Lute and a squad of Exorcists were sent to recover Emily from the Hazbin Hotel and entered through the window of Tani and Emily's room. There, they found no trace of the seraphim nor the supposed Sinner, so they decided to go one step further: enter the whole hotel, "rescue" Emily and kill everyone in their way.
When they left the room, however, they found the hotel silent, all rooms locked and unable to be broken in and the atmosphere oppressive. The more they advanced, the more oppressive, distorted and downright nightmarish the scenery became, even to the standards of Hell. And it seemed endless. Like an illusionary trap.
Worse, someone or something was making the angels disappear. One by one. Meticulously. Without being seen. Until only Lute remained.
A door opened and she went through with her spear ready, only to land in another dead-end. Then, the door closed right behind her. She re-opened it and found face-to-face with a grinning Tani.
"Boo."
Despite quickly thrusting her spear, Tani easily dodged the blade, grabbed Lute's arm and promptly threw her into the corridor.
All attempts to hit Tani failed as she proved unnaturally fast at dodging. The demon didn't even bother to pull out her weapons, toying with Lute and only slapping her with her wings and hands, never directly trying to hurt her but taking delight in making her slam into the walls and fall on the ground, letting her injure herself.
The "fight" lasted a few minutes before a careless and rage-filled thrust of her spear was dodged, leading her right into the top of stairs that just suddenly appeared behind Tani, causing Lute to tumble down them, painfully and hard enough she lost her Exorcist mask in the fall.
As she tried to stand up, she heard a crush and looked, seeing her mask cracked and crushed by one of Tani's feet, who was now standing in front of her, wings resting on her, grinning even more widely.
"You fell... off the edge of the map. And into the domain of monsters.
Now get out."
Tani told her before kicking her so hard Lute got thrown through the veil of the illusion -or was it another realm- and out of the hotel, alone.
