"Can a picture broken so severely ever be put back together just as it was again? As if nothing had ever changed?"
I have begun to realize that writing is a lot more important to my overall process than I'd been giving it credit for. Lately I have really been focusing in on my story called "Dust", and I hope to share more soon. It's something I've been working on for a few years now, but at various rates of productivity. Lately though, it's just been like a waterfall. Right now, I have almost a book's worth of writing done. (The average book is around 90,000 words apparently.) I have a pretty solid foundation laid out, from things like rules, biomes, cultures, etc. I even have an evolutionary tree haha. The thing that took the longest to come together were the individual stories of the characters within all of this. But I am finally getting to that, and really enjoying what is happening. And now I finally feel ready to start telling the story I had always wanted to, now that I am more comfortable with how to go about it.
Without saying too much of it, "Dust" is an overarching collection of stories. It's all one world, and thus one story I suppose, but there are many individual stories to tell about the world. A weaved web, puddles left behind after a rainstorm. Mountains and civilizations eroded away by time, perhaps forgotten to all. Dust and dust are not the same thing.
I have formative snippets of it already uploaded here and there, and a folder for it as well. I no longer wish to include too many pinup like pictures as a part of the story unless called for, they will instead look more in line with what you see here. I will not stop doing pinups of any characters, but they will be separate pieces from the story.
It's hard to hold on to all of this and not show it in whole, but I hope that as I tell this story, at least someone out there will resonate with it. That's all I really hope for. I have made progress on all of my other story series as well, in fact I finished the entire story for "Moon Girl" a while back, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to actually painting it. Right now, "Dust" is my focus, and I hope to tell it more properly and very soon. I want to give it a more suitable start and organize it by Characters and such as I go. Many characters have a lot written out and even a bit of thumbnailing done. Zera's story is the most complete so far, and I will be starting with hers, after an intro piece with a key character...
The first pieces I hope to upload from all of this will be called either "Starbirth" or "Starborn", and "Fairytales". I hope some people will find the stories interesting.
(With "Fairytales" I will include a little Journal tied in with the story that will continue to get updates over time. :) )
