So this is something I started working on in december when I realized that we would have friday the 13th that month. I had wanted it completed in time for friday the 13th, but when I realized that I would not be able to finish it in time I put it on hold to focus on other projects.
A black cat whose presence causes misfortune might be a bit of a cliché, but at least it's a reason to experiment a bit more with lighting.^^

It's interesting that you point out the eyes because I figured that would be the most noticable feature on a black cat at night. When I first started colouring this I made the eyes yellow, but I did not like the way it looked. And since I was leaning into superstitions for this image I ended up looking at charms to ward of the evil eye like the nazar amulet or the hamsa and that's where the inspiration for the current eyes came from.
