I have to say, I absolutely hated Reading Rainbow as a kid. First, because it wasn't animated and I resented live action shows masquerading as childrens' programming ESPECIALLY ones that tried to educate me. Second, I thought the show was dumb because, seriously, why should I read any of these dumb books if Levar Burton is going to tell me exactly how they end? And third, that horrible trippy 70s butterfly credit sequence FREAKED ME THE FUCK OUUUUUUT. I mean, what the fuck, he dog turned into a star! What was that all about? If I were an unfunny hack like the Nostalgia Critic, I might describe it as NO REALLY THAT REALLY HAPPENED.
Alexandria of the Library, however, likes books, so I thought it would be appropriate to have her in a Reading Rainbow homage. But, oh no, that rocket was not build to accomodate all that woman!

I'm old enough to have seen it and to only half-remember it as a weird kaleidescope of horrors that, for years, I wasn't sure if I'd just hallucinated. Thank God the Internet came along toprove its existance and validate my sanity!

As a kid who would occasionally see Reading Rainbow, I didn't had any problems with the intro (mostly because I didn't had any second thoughts about what was going on it. If I did, I'd probably would have been psychologically scarred or whatever). For the overall show, I didn't hate it but I also didn't liked it.
