I've followed
o-kemono for many, many years. His small soft cute style of drawing characters, known as "chibi", has been a joy to watch.
One day, however, my mind took that word and just ran with it, and realized that a mammal-insect hybrid would be a novel thing.
Thankfully, Ookami was willing to indulge me on this most elaborate play on words, and come up with an awesome design for the cheetah/Africanized honeybee character. (The tongue was all him, but it also makes complete sense.) And yes, "Haraka-nyuki" is a loose translation of the Swahili term for a "swift bee". Just imagine a bee that can run at 90kph, then leap into flight.
