Sharilar Starmyst was kidnapped, and through a ritual, unintentionally bonded to the Great Dark Beyond. Keeping her sanity through sheer force of will, she grew in power, slowly transforming and becoming more powerful with each additional tail, before ascending into an Elder God herself, bearing dominion over hope and forbidden knowledge. This is her journey.

Beginning to listen, truly listen, to the whispers in the back of her mind, Sharilar discovered events in motion that had begun well before the ritual that began the process of corruption into whatever she was becoming, well before even her grandparents or great-grandparents. Events on a scale she was even now having trouble grasping. Most of it was beyond their little slice of the universe, but the minor aftereffects could be harnessed by those with the knowledge and the will to risk their sanity trying to grasp it.

Her increased understanding still did not give her a true idea of the end result of what was happening to her, but with it came her sixth tail, displaying her ever greater magical strength as her gradual transformation into... something... continued apace.
