Started brewing a brand new setting around Godsent's character (the cyclops fella here from previous works)

In short: the In-Between is, quite literally, a world in-between worlds. A hub of sorts, where eldritch horrors dwell.

Lady beside him is Eleanor, The Executioner. Her duty is to find and punish trespassers of In-Between.

"In the eyes of the beholder" refers to their appearance, - they change it depending on the species who are observing them at the given moment. In this case, that's how humans would have perceived them, in order to make sense of what stands before them and not lose their minds too much.
