Kanaak and Malamedes' first kiss! 😲 But Kanaak doesn't look in to it. 😅
In the newest draft of my book I decided to make soldiers Kanaak and Mal ex-boyfriends -- if you could even call them that since they were just teenagers figuring themselves out. This experience showed Kanaak that kissing boys doesn't bring him joy, and while Mal does like kissing people (and then some 😳 ), he doesn't like romantic intimacy. They've since moved on from this and laugh about it in hindsight.
