Hmmm, snausages from

Saw a video on this one and both me and the boy fox wanted to try it
Its a pie in the level of a cottage pie or shepherd's pie and really quite nice
Its a very loose recipe so feel free to make changes
So here ~faccc2 ~faccc2 give it a try
Sausage and mash pie
6 - 8 Thick pork sausage links (or whatever you prefer I used beef smoked)
3 cups Beef stock
1 medium sized onion - sliced
1 Bay leaf
1 Teaspoon of Sage
1 Teaspoon of Thyme
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon plain (all purpose) flour
2 Tablespoon of butter
Salt and pepper to taste
2 1/2 pounds potatoes peeled
Dash of salt
table spoon of butter
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 Tablespoon dried parsley
A handful of grated cheddar cheese for the top
1 cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. once the water boils add a dash of salt, cook till tender. once thats done drain the potatoes add the table spoon of butter, and milk and mash down to desired consistency. some like it rough some like it smooth. once ready add in the dried parsley and mix
2 while the potato cooks add oil to a small pot and fry your sausages turning to heat them on all sides, you don't have to cook all the way but you want that color on all sides.
3 once done remove the sausage from the pot and set to drain of any oil
4 in the pot you cooked the sausages add one table spoon of butter and your onion with a 1/2 teaspoon of salt cooking to let it soften and get color for about 15 minutes
5 once done add in 1 tables spoon of butter and one tablespoon flour mixing well and letting cook for one more minute
6 stir in one teaspoon thyme, one teaspoon sage, and your beef broth (at this point I also used an immersion blender to break down the onions some more)
7 cut your sausage into bite sized pieces and add into the gravy with the Worcestershire sauce. allow to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes (if it doesn't thicken up feel free to use a little corn starch in water to help)
8 once everything is cool let it all cool down to room temp
9 place a layer sausage and onion gravy in the bottom of a baking dish (I used an 8 inch square) then layer you mashed potatoes on top of that and sprinkle with your shredded cheese
10 bake at 350 for about 30 minutes and enjoy
A really good meal my boy fox made a creamy green bean dish to go with it that was super tasty
Its something you can make ahead of time and cook off for an easy meal its warm filling and delightful
