
Kalma - The ultimate Assassin
This piece is first among a series of practice sketches where I just out of the blue design anthropomorphic superhero characters. I know these guys might never become part of any of my literary projects, but I've been having wroter's block for a long time now, so I needed something to keep my mind cranking.

"Superb concealment": Kalma can become almost perfectly concealed, as he can manipulate atoms and particles in the air and in contact with his surface to bend the lighting surrounding him to render himself almost perfectly invisible. In addition, the "particle cloak" around him masks any and all scent particles, so he can't be found by a keen sense of smell. The cloak also disguises his body heat to an extent, so only high-powered infra-red can uncover him, as well as muffling out an extent of sounds coming from within the cloak. However, the particles around him spread out when exposed to intense air vibrations, so sonic waves and even loud enough sound waves can blow his cover.
"Heightened visionary sense"
An expert assassin and saboteur as well as a skilled martial artist and knife tosser. He's the result of an experiment by a modern-day independent black-ops organization that enlists professional assassins to the highest bidder. The group abducts people of interest, their favored targets being ones with unusual abilities. They then arduously train them into obediance, usually applying cybernetic neural implants and psychoactive drugs. When Kalma was brought into the fold as an infant, they stripped him of his free will with a brain transplant and trained him in various stealth and combat abilities. He was an efficient killer, until his powers developed and created a bit of a twist; the implant attached to his spine combusted from the particle movement and thus freed his mind. Though his mind was enslaved, he still had all the memories of his life in the organization, so he retraced his steps and butchered the people responsible for taking away his life. Though unfortunately the leaders are still at large with Kalma's genetic samples, who began mass producing Kalma clones and selling them to underground oragnizations of dictator governments.
Since all he knows is fighting, he still works as an assassin and mercenary for hire, but primarily for small-scale militias or some specific movements, including anti-governmental and eco groups, though his primary concerns are his earnings and staying hidden. Though no one knows his identity or even of his mutant status, he's been designated as a terrorrist. Though not inherently evil, he's just bitter about society and has some ideals of changing it, even if it involves victims.
His gear consists of a fullbody sneaking suit that actually improves his particle manipulation abilities. The suit is adorned with numerous pouches amd scabbards for his arsenal. The wrists hide three-barrelled, spring loaded dart guns. His weapons consist of two combat knives, a set of bowie knives, a katana, dual kama and a pair of butterfly swords.
Inspirations include Gray Fox from MGS, Vamp from MGS 2 and 4, The Fear from MGS 3, Kroenen from Hellboy and Deadpool from Marvel Comics.
