                    A Gnoll Tall Tale
(Gnolls’ are not known for being terribly verbose, or for their stories being terribly interesting. Often, their tales revolve around eating, sleeping, and slaying - but, once in a blue moon, you get a tale that hints at greater interactions between gnolls and other races beyond pillaging and hunting. Such is the case of Jorji, a gnoll who left his fellows in search of meat…
It should be noted that, from what we know, Jorji was actually bright and eloquent, even amongst other humanoids - but, to the other gnolls, all that matters is his epic hunt for meat. This is considered amongst the finest stories that gnolls have to tell.)
Jorji liked to eat. He especially liked to eat meat. Sometimes, he’d eat and eat and eat, till there wasn’t any meat left! Poor Jorji… so hungry, so skinny, since he hasn’t any more meat to eat…
From his clan he did leave, all to search for more meat. There was some meat - but not a lot… Until he found some spottless. Jorji helped them - for meat. They gave him meat. He helped some more - so, they gave him more meat. And more meat. And more meat…
/Meat, meat, meat, and then some more meat…/
Jorji loved to eat. He loved to swell. He loved to grow. He lived to eat. Meat, meat, meat, that’s what Jorji did eat. He ate until he was great and fat. Until his spots were wide and soft. Then he ate some more - and more - and more.
Jorji ate all the meat a gnoll could eat - then he slept, and then he ate more. And more. And more! He ate till his toes went away. Then, till the ground went away. The spotless gave him more meat, still, even though he couldn’t help them. Jorji was a good talker, best talker of gnolls - almost as good of talker as he was eater! He must’ve talked good to get the meat. So, he talked, instead of helped, so he got even more meat.
He slept, and ate, and slept, and ate… And that’s all he did for days and days!
We gnolls remember and honor Jorji the Lucky, who got all the meat that he could eat. Maybe the spotless aren’t just good to eat - maybe they will give us meat too!
(The Meat Story / The Epic of Jorji is considered a groundbreaking work in improving gnoll relations with the rest of the world, and it has appeared in even non-gnoll art and literature, albeit with some finer wording and illustrations than mere etchings on caves and bones. The effect these improved relations have had on gnoll obesity rates are… less than desirable to some - and all too desirable to others…)

Hyena’s were really meant to be fat, weren’t they? Especially gnolls - it was lovely getting to feed Jiskcar’s ever-adorable Jorji up to size… I think he could still use some meat on those bones, though!
