Another commission to add to the pile in my gallery that was illustrated by Exagono16 (https://www.deviantart.com/exagono16), and I think maybe the last one I have in my re-upload backlog? Actually, no, that's not true, I have at least one more... but that one doesn't involve August in any capacity, so maybe I should rephrase that to "the last Exagono commission that includes August". And, unlike several other entries that have been submitted to my gallery recently, this one is actually my commission! Which makes sense because it only includes my character, heh.

Alright, so, I'm not sure how much detail I should provide for the description in this one, and that's because I wasn't really sure if I should be uploading it at all. Why is that, you may ask? Because it's very heavily inspired by the image that I provided as a reference, to the point where it might be too derivative. Specifically,  Sidian's series of cute animal loaves; and even more specifically, this one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/22726937/. Perhaps it's just me fretting over nothing — I love this piece, it's adorable — but when I commissioned it like two years ago and Exagono gave me a WIP that was very close to the reference image I had for him, I was like "yep that's cool" and perhaps that wasn't the greatest decision in hindsight.

I can't really compare them line for line because I don't have the appropriate art tools on my mobile device, but I've received more than one reassurance in the face of my paranoia about it that they're not 100% identical and that it's not traced, just very derived from the source material. And for what it's worth, even it was an issue, the responsibility for its creation would 100% fall on me because Exagono provided me with numerous different wips that had entirely different poses, and I still chose to go with this one (I'll probably upload the wip with the different poses to showcase his artistic range!).

So, it is an issue with how similar they are? Maybe, maybe not. I asked for the pose to be nearly identical and that's what I got, and whether a heavily influenced pose is in the same severity as tracing depends on who you ask; I've definitely seen differing opinions on the matter. So I may be making a big deal out of nothing, but it's better to put that dilemma out there instead of remaining silent about it and then have someone go "hey, this is too derivative of x!"

You walk into the living room and spot a majestic Sawsloaf, sitting on your chair! What do you do? He's very content and seems to want your coffee. Would you let him have it?

... Also, I only realized while studying this to upload that August has no ears. Poor guy :(
