Death of the Parents (1/2)
The Downfall of Moonbeam and her rider’s relationship was the day her rider’s parents were killed in a battle with a giant dragon. (Can you guess what species from the silhouette?)
Moonbeam was blamed for her parent’s death and she went from being best friends with her rider to the bane of her existence. She couldn’t look at Moonbeam. She had been a coward and it was her fault her parents were dead. She was supposed to be this all powerful, rare nightlight that was the strongest dragon alive. But she failed her and was locked away in a dark cavern, only allowed out when she was sent on another mission to capture dragons for dragon hunter’s profit.
Moonbeam, who was only around 7 years old at the time and a toddler, was scared against the massive beast and froze, unable to do anything but grab her rider and flee while her parents were consumed alive. Her rider would look down on her daily and would no longer call her “best friend” or “good dragon” or “my moontlght.” She became after that day, “Da**ed beast”, “Stupid Reptile” and “Worthless pile of scales.”
Moonbeam spent her years trying to make it up to her rider and telling herself it was all her fault, bringing her to madness that she could not win against the affections of her rider. This led her rider to never forgive her and deciding that Moonbeam was better off dead and her pelt fashioned into a garb & robe for a viking king instead.
This is where Moonbeam became betrayed by her rider she fought so hard to win the affections of again and her hatred of humans, for using her blindly to destroy others of her kind all to be thrown away like trash.
