Characters belong to myself. They are two female Sabers:
Talon
and
Siren
Who ever thought fate could be so cruel to those in the living world.
Two souls intertwined, only to be torn apart in a very cruel manner.
When Talon was born, she was seen as a blessing for her clan. She had been given it all! Love, Deep Respect of her clan, a bright future, even a beautiful mate who was as loyal as they came.
But one moment was all it took, choosing her younger sisters life lost her everything in the blink of an eye. She should have just let the weak cub die like the customs permitted....But Talon...for some reason she just could not allow this to happen.
Talon was in line to take the position of leader, like her mother before her and her mother before her. She was strong and they truly believed she would bring them into a new era.
When she was well into her teen years, she had already chosen her mate. A strong spunky Saber who had a knack for teasing her and keeping her on her toes. Boy did she love that girl very much!
She had just learned her mother was carrying another cub. But something was wrong with this one. Her mother became very ill during her pregnancy, having a hard time keeping food down. Though the older Saber did her best to hide her weakness, Talon noticed that it took her longer to recover from even a simple walk. When she finally had the cub, her mother and father grew angry at the offspring that appeared. It was scrawny and weak, a disgrace to the clan and not worth the air that it was breathing. Out of spite and hatred they named the cub Crowfood and left her exposed to the elements to die.
Talon, who had been awaiting her parents return rushed to meet them. Excited to meet her new sibling. But when she saw they came home with nothing and they said it was a disgrace, Talon took it upon herself to slip away and find the cub.
She did and raised her in secret, giving her the name Crow instead of her given name. Talon did this even when her mother had another cub, who thankfully was accepted into the clan.
Siren knew her mate was up to something, but out of respect never truly questioned her love. Afterall. Talon had never done anything to make her question her before. Why should now be any different.
But in the dead of night, Talon now a young adult and her siblings now much older. Crow even had joined her clan members, and though she was treated like an outcast when her sisters were not around, she was tolerated when they were present.
Enemies invaded the territory, bringing with them a reign of destruction the sabers had only heard rumors about. The enemy had come in to kill without mercy and that is exactly what they did.
Talon barely had time to save her siblings in the fight. She could not find Siren anywhere amongst the chaos. She stayed and fought till all hope was lost and they had to flee.
When they were far enough away she watched as her home was destroyed, never knowing what happened to Siren.
YEARS later, after Talon met her current mate, Talon and Siren's path crossed. By then the beautiful spunky Saber Talon had once knew was gone. There was a Firey hatred in her heart and it was directed at the other female. Siren blamed Talon for all that she had lost and been put through.
In the end, Talon was the one that put Siren at peace. In those last moments they had spent together, Siren returned to her senses.
"I never forgot..."
The feline had rasped as she laid sprawled out, blood pouring out the sides of her mouth. She was looking up at Talon with that faraway look in her eyes.
"The promise I mean....The one we made that starry night..."
Talon stood there staring at her with sad eyes as she felt the claw marks deepen in her heart as she forced the words out.
"We will always find each other..."
Talon spoke with a crack to her voice as Siren finished the sentence.
"In this life or the next."
Talon laid a paw on Sirens and licked her behind the left ear.
"I never stopped looking for you my beautiful Siren, never.....I just..."
She drifted off as a lump formed in her throat and she had to close her eyes tight to stop the tears from falling.
"I understand now sweety, you had to be strong for them."
With that Siren licked Talon's cheek softly and her head fell to the ground and the last little life that had moved her body, vanished.
Talon had buried her dear friend and former mate in a place she could always return to and overlooked a beautiful valley. She visits her grave often when she is having doubts or troubles and often talks to the plant that has started to grow. She swears she can feel Sirens presence when she goes there.
