This started off partially as a joke because I was thinking about how the Koga dogs in Ginga look like spotted hyenas, then it led to me drawing three different ninja dog leaders as actual hyenas

And yes the eyelashes are very much intentional, all three characters are female in this pic because hyenas are strictly matriarchal in nature
