Akane is a half-demon demon hunter. Hailing from the east, her mother was mortal and her father was a demon. Her mother died when she was young, and she never knew her father. She has devoted herself to hunting demons, using her demonic heritage to fight them on equal footing. She carries an odachi. Since the blade is too long to be drawn from her back, and too large the hang at the hip, she carries it in her hand. She uses the cord on the sheath to tie the sword to the sheath, keeping it from coming unsheathed when she wants to fight non-lethally. She has disciplined herself to only draw her sword when she intends to take a life and to not take lives without good reason. When she does draw the blade, she often leaves the sheath behind, so she had it enchanted so that she can call it back to her hand. The bracer on her right arm it made of dragon hide, allowing her to block attacks with it if she can't get her sword up in time. While she relies mostly on her physical strength, she can conjure up flames on occasion. She also has demonic horns and wings, but she keeps these hidden unless needed. She can't hide her demonic presence from those with magic sense though. Her sword is named Seijō-ki; Purifier.
