After exploring different supspecies of Kobolds in the last entry of this series, I want to introduce some more variants of Kobolds that differ in another way. You could think of the following as classes for Kobold characters.
Raufbold: The german word Raufbold describes somebody who enjoys or is often brawling. Might be related to the english words rough and ruffian. Of course, the Raufbold variant of a Kobold is a fighter, a brawler, most likely a tavern brawler.
Alternative Raufbold: Alternatively, a Raufbold could be someone who is good at brawling or rather melee combat. Instead of being rowdy roughnecks these Raufbolds have studied the art of unarmed melee combat. Compare to physical adepts.
Saufbold: In german "saufen" is a pejorative term for "to drink". The regular word for "to drink" is "trinken". A Saufbold is somebody who drinks a lot of alcohol. Such a Kobold is doing just that, not much for class, but could be a drunken master as an effect.
Trunkenbold: At the first glance, there is no much of a difference between a Saufbold and Trunkenbold. The word Trunkenbold however is more common than Saufbold, as it is less derogatory. It comes from the german word "betrunken", or rather its poetical shortening "trunken", which means "drunk". A Saufbold (drinking) could evolve into a Trunkenbold (drunk), because basically the first is describing the action and the latter describing the accomplished, perfect action.
Coming up next: Witzbold and Scherzbold.
