Archiving my work from the past 5 years, today I am doing 2021.
Like 2020, I wasn’t sure if I would have anything to share with you, but reflecting back proved me wrong once again. I will try to tell something short about that year and show some highlights.
The first half year I was mainly still focusing on my toddler and baby. Then around Summer I felt I had the energy and motivation again to get creative. I started very simple unlike my initial plans I had in 2020 before I got pregnant :P. I decided to just take a dive and spontaneously open for a Kigurumi Pajama slot. This was surprisingly quickly filled despite my extended absence. I really liked the Kigurumi I’ve made and It felt good to work again!
Next I struggled with what to do next, because nobody was interested in either Hoodies or Art. So I asked everyone to vote and Kigurumi Pajama’s won! So naturally I opened up for those by the end of the year. And after much consideration I also decided to re-open my Etsy shop (I believe since 2017) again to accept Splatoon Hats again. So a few orders came in, not too much :).
I also started to draw again and I was a bit worried if I could still do it? It’s silly, but it had been a while O_O I discovered Art Fight was a thing, so I decided to join that and practice drawing again. I gave it my all during these attacks! I really love the one I did for Outputt featuring their 2 cats Pasta & Chilli <3 and was very surprised with my drawing output ^__^ I felt taking a break from my art gave me a chance to grow and improve my art.
After Art Fight it made me excited to draw more again so I made some personal and gift art. I started to experiment with headshots including a cute simple style I could do more quickly. I made a birthday drawing for myself (September 9) and I think that was the last time I drew Suu :O (not counting that simple AF icon). And sometimes I enjoyed sketching in my small sketchbook and made a cute drawing of Niko from ACNH as soon as that was announced.
The end of the year has become a very overwhelming time of the year for me. Not just due to the holiday season, but because both my kids have their birthdays as well. So for me it’s a roller coaster of juggling all kinds of things. My son would already be turning 3 and my daughter 1! For her birthday (which I still use to this day) I made a fleece birthday sling in rainbow colors with her name and age that you can replace every year. I really enjoy making small things like these for them to make it extra special <3
So I believe that was all in short for that year, next is 2022! Thank you for reading and following my journey :D
