A brief overview of the Terrible Things world and how it’s structured. This isn’t an alternate universe situation - the other realms are very much physically connected and accessible on foot (or wing, if you want to reach a higher realm).

Also, I plan to go into greater detail on this later, but while the gates can’t be closed or filled, they can still be barricaded or messed with in other ways. For instance, celestials don’t want “lower” life forms to access them, and use their time magic to extend the space within the gates indefinitely. You’d just be crawling in there forever until you died. They can recompress the space and pop down whenever they like though, rip.
