I knew I needed practice, to animate something in Flash, didn't care what it was.
Just had to get my hands dirty, break the starting blockage.
24fps, although it's technically 12fps. Done freehand in about 8hrs.
Tried to do a loop going out and coming into frame. Propotions are shot to shit, but it's all about the motion.
Next order of business: refined inbetweening and line cleanup.
PS: Before anyone thinks this is a precursor for more, this is something I'll only do if I have a pile of savings to sit on. Doing something like this takes a lot of time, and if I can't sustain myself in all those lost hours it's not worth exploring as a viable form of commission or even personal entertainment.
As funny as it is to give animated smut a prod, it's too much work for negative gain.
I'm teaching myself this only because I need to do video mockups of game ideas, where there's a huge cultural divide to bridge, and words on a scope document is not enough.

Hmmm, not bad, not bad for an exploration here. I think really, what you need is just to clean up that opening image you use as the base, as the lines on that are thicker than those that are in motion. You might need to exaggerate the motions a bit more too, primarily just the up-and-down from the walking though. Then again, it is your work, so you can do it how you see fit.
And yeah, I can definitely see why you'd prefer to just leave this as a sporadic kind of thing, as you'd need to charge a LOT to make something like this viable, especially compared to your normal commissions business and your professional work. Best to just leave this as a little experiment to some extent, unless you can earn a LOT of money and recognition for it.

Since I left my storyboarding job I have not done much in actual animation, so this serves as more of a 'warming up' than anything serious.
The issue with the lines is mostly how Flash works, instead of a persistent brush size, it's all to do with how zoomed in / out you are. It's irritating.
