Uhh, let's see. I used the crayon tool to sketch it (I didn't really mess with it much except to make the lines slightly finer), set that layer to multiply, and then actually used the marker tool (which I've never touched before in my life) to color it. And the parts that are slightly faded are like that because I went over those parts with a white brush set at a pretty low opacity. Just to sort of...etch away at it a little.
All in all, I was sort of going for a watercolor-like effect. :D
