they're a bit scary but also protectors of their village. the villagers call them by diminutives/nicknames.... Sasha and Kolya......

oh well i figured it'd be VERY russian to use the regnal names of czars for hunting dogs, sort of like a title to give them honor

Borzois are a really interesting breed, they look so extravagant and even a little gangly, I never would have guessed they were bred to hunt wolves instead of just being fancy pets.

These guys really capture both the more imposing and the more cute side of the breed, plus I just love that all white coloring. Even if they’re a bit scary at first, I’d bet the villagers who’ve gotten to know them all love them...
