If there's one thing that consistently amazes me, it's the incredible command that Araivis-Edelveys has of pose and figure. I have seen some art from her, that done by nearly any other artist out there, would almost inevitably result in a vast legion of "this character has forgotten how to spine" comments, at the most kind, and yet the way Araivis arts it out, it looks as natural as breathing.
I've been drawing my own taur character, by my own hand, for a good two or three years now, and I have a really good eye for hir design -- one which, unfortunately, I was ill-equipped to communicate as well as needed, across a language barrier, for a piece of my own (and I readily admit that, with a fair bit of regret) -- but my pencil cannot command the same graceful flexibility of poses that Araivis' can, not by a long shot. I have seen one single piece by another artist that can reasonably compare, and only one -- and I can name it. Araivis-Edelveys is what happens when someone is born with a good eye and hand for artistic ability, and nurtures and develops that ability over decades, the hard way. She is an absolute master at what she does. (Say what you will about talent and skill -- but you can't be even a decent visual artist if you can barely hold a pen, just as you can't be a ballerina if you've got two left legs!)
Someday, when I can speak decent Russian, or have someone who can properly translate for me, I look forward to having the opportunity to come back for another piece done by her -- but I think it best to wait until I can communicate much better.
