I don't know if there is a way for people running FA to promote musicians more. I don't really see them promoting any specific artists except for whoever does a banner, and the ads are up for whoever wants to buy them, really--so maybe just buying some ad space here for this group might be a way to promote musicians specifically.

It's always nice to get more exposure as a musician, but it has to start with the desires of the Furry fandom at large to WANT to appreciate Furry musicians more, and I don't know what any of us can do to really change something like that in such a specific scope.

And as for the question: I absolutely would love for FA to promote musicians more! Granted, I'm not sure how, maybe they could put up a song pick of the month that would go along with the banner that's chosen monthly, but as primarily a furry musician, I do feel under-represented at times, and it certainly is very hard to get exposure with music as opposed to art.

I was thinking the same, so I'll just leave this here. It's a question of effort and expense versus payoff (although ad spots might generate revenue). It's something not just for the musicians, but it makes original non-mainstream music more accessible to all site members and visitors.

Since FA does promote artists by having banner contests, I think it would be nice if they could promote musicians. However, FA is mainly an art website. The fact that they have poetry, music and stories sections is nice, but I don't think they will promote musicians, nor do I think they should feel obliged to. After all, if artists and musicians were to be promoted, it would only be fair to promote poetry and stories, as well, and that won't happen. You have to take into account that FA is a furry website. Artwork is furry. Music is not. *sadface*

Music, poetry and stories are art too, not only the visual art..

That phrase is debatable. The music can also become part or to reflect a way of life like furry. Who define tendencies or styles??

A good way for FA to promote musicians better, they could have FurAffinity Radio on the site, and only play stuff that we make. :3 We're in the same quagmire as fur affinity authors -- we don't draw porn. So it's pretty hard to get popular. xD
That said, I doubt that (the radio station) or anything of that sort will ever happen... We're lucky we're even able to upload music and not just artwork. xD

Awesome spotlight is awesome (and gonna appear in my faves!). FA could give a bit more recognition to music, but if you think about it, creating a special feature that only musicians will benefit from may cause a bit of unfairness and bias. Although we may all like it, I guess we should remember that FA's not a music-oriented site.

Though an optional music player on the sidebar would be nice.
