"Not bad kid, but remember, youth and strength are no match for age and treachery..."

Felix Blackclaw is the father of Nicole and Tenebra Blackclaw and one of the Poke-Combat Academy's major financial backers. Although he did call in some favors in order to get his adopted daughter Tenebra enrolled in the academy, he has never asked or hinted that either of them receive any special treatment. (Nicole makes that assumption on her own).

Felix is the chief owner and CEO of Blackclaw Entertainment Enterprises, a prolific entertainment and combat oriented corporation. His business owns several prestigious gyms and maintains one of the largest and most popular poke-combat leagues in the world. Felix himself still personally works as a promoter and manager and has backed numerous world champions in recent years, including academy coach Michael Marceau.

Felix was abandoned at a very young age and forced to survive on the street however he could. At first by stealing, then by acting as a runner or lookout for various criminal elements, and finally by battling in the illegal, underground, yet popular street fights known for being brutal, no-hold-barred exhibitions. The perennial undermeowth, Felix scrapped his way into the upper ranks of the underground fight circuit, earning his nickname "Blackclaw" during a match against a gengar which left the fingers of his right hand from about the second knuckle down to the tip of his claws permanently dyed an ebon black.

After years of fighting in this league and several run-ins with the law of his own, Felix managed to get a shot at the unofficial champion of the underground league, a monster of a charizard (which is saying something) known as Inferno. Nobody gave Felix a chance in hell at winning and the match was booked more as an amusement than anything else. But Felix contacted every legal and illegitimate loan shark he could and took out a small fortune in loans. He then bet it all on himself at extremely generous odds. When the fight came he was literally fighting for his life, as if he had lost, the mobsters and lowlifes that he had taken the loans from would have him dead within the hour. Against all odds Felix emerged victorious and promptly retired from active fighting. He used his winnings, made several wise investments and business arrangements, and eventually came into what he is today.

When his daughter Nicole was born he vowed that no child of his would have to grow up the way he did, and his efforts to ensure that Nicole never had to want for anything spoiled her rotten. Felix is oblivious to the trouble that Nicole causes, he has a loving father's blind eye to it all.

From time to time Felix will visit his old stomping grounds incognito, scouting the underground circuit for promising talent to bring into his official league. It was during one of these visits that he met Tenebra and was impressed by her fighting ability. He approached her with a business offer, and after getting to know her, was shocked to learn how old she really was (she had lied about her age in order to fight). In her he saw a reflection of himself, and couldn't stand by and do nothing. After some time he formally adopted her as his own daughter.

Despite his daughters' shortcomings, Felix is a good 'mon who has never forgotten where he came from. He donates a lot of money to the school, and his company offers scholarships to deserving underprivileged students whose fighting talents might find their way into some very unsavory company otherwise. If only someone could make him see the unsavory company that's brewing under his own roof.
