History:
While traveling through Sinnoh, Ardra came across a young man pushing a young Riolu too hard into battle. Ardra had decided to take the Riolu off the boy's hands in exchange for a Jynx that Ardra had with him at the time.

Since then, Hikaru has been very withdrawn and sullen. Only interested in fighting and getting stronger.

Attributes:

- Unlike most Riolu that have red eyes, Hikaru has black eyes.
- The Gold color around Hikaru's neck was given to him when he went off to train with Duacrius. There has been some debate that the Color is actually a Macho Brace or some other status booster.
- The hair on the back of Hikaru's hair stands on ends due to his prolong exposure to Spike and the Pichu's Static Ability.
- Hikaru can only use his Thunder Punch move when he's double battling with Spike, as he has trouble controlling his Hidden Power ability to produce his own Electricity for the attack.
- Hikaru is very protective of Spike, even to the point of getting into altercations with older Pokemon of Ardra's who have been picking on the Pichu.
- Hikaru has very few friends other than Spike. His only other friends are Duacrius, Pip and Heero.
-Due to his training, Hikaru is very self-assured in the sense that he will defeat his opponent. He believes he can win any battle he wants to, and often does. Hikaru has been called a Genius by older Pokemon due to his ability to quickly deduce a strategy during battle and execute it. Quite often, it's Hikaru's strategies rather than his brute force that wins him battles.
- Even with all the praise and compliments he receives from Pokemon stronger than himself, Hikaru does not believe he's gotten any stronger than when his previous trainer had him, thus he trains himself hard every day.
