Before the Osiris myth was popularized in ancient Egypt, Set was seen as a very neutral being in the pantheon.


So when people try and summon either him or Anubis thinking they will help them either take over the world or something stupid they are surprised to find out both of them are never happy to go along with said hair brained scheme.

Plus considering most who go this far to summon them for power they decide just to deal with them now instead of letting them mess with any of the more dangerous stuff they have buried.
