No one knows how it came into existence. Legends say it is the soul of a sailor cursed by the ocean itself, but its appearance has long since ceased to resemble man or beast.
His skin is nothing more than an illusion, a ghostly film through which the rippling shadows of his insides can be seen. They ripple with every movement, shimmering like seaweed in a strong current.
A faint light flickers above his head, tied to a long thin branch that wriggles in the water like a luminous outgrowth of an angler. For those drowning in the night sea, it is a last hope, a treacherous call that promises salvation. But as you get closer, it emerges from the mist.
Its tail is long, transparent, almost invisible in the dark. It glides through the water, leaving behind faint blue sparks. Electric shocks flash at its tip, running through the flesh as if the sea itself comes alive in its presence.
When it attacks, no splash or sound is heard. Only at the last moment, before the darkness overwhelms the victim, can you see his eyes lurking in the depths

The sea remembers everyone who once looked into this light. And it never lets go.
