A large reticulated python named Nicole and her handler enter the shimmer waters of Australia Zoo's Crocoseum.

We managed to catch a couple of those shows when we were at the zoo, which included excitement, humour and education about conservation. Snakes were brought about the stadium for people to touch while those in the presentation area were placed in crystal clear water to show people how they swim; most importantly, presenters shared with guests myths, misconceptions and interesting facts about snakes. One of the more interesting facts was that 90% of snake bites in Australia occur when people have tried to catch or kill a snake. The presenters also enlightened audience members of their importance to the ecosystem and how people can safely co-exist with them, which is key for conservation.
