I always get a small commission whenever I go to a con of something memorable that happened as a souvenir.
The decision on what to get was made for me immediately upon arriving in Chicago:
I arrived half a week early to crash with a friend and see the city, so at O'Hare I walked down to the L Train station in the airport and tried buying a day pass.
... Tried.
There were no train staff around to buy a ticket or pass from, and the ticket machine rejected every card I had.
Every single one.
3 business cards, and 3 personal ones, all rejected.
That machine fought me.
Thankfully my Canadian bank is common in Chicago, so I walked all the way back to the arrivals terminal, found and ATM, got American Dollarydoos, and was able to use cash in the machine.
.. nope. All the machines weren't accepting cash that day.
