Chapter 3. The doctors dark truths part 4
Me and Michael moved on into the next room, but when the door close behind us, I could hear something very interesting.
"DOCTOR, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS SCENARIO HAS HAPPENED, AND ONCE AGAIN, I HAVE FAILED TO UNDERSTAND YOUR METHODS." Explained the AI greenhouse terminal.
"How so?" asked Dr. K.
"FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS, YOU WERE DESPERATELY TRYING TO KEEP THIS S.I.I. SPECIMEN ALIVE, AND NOW YOU'RE TRYING TO TORMENT THEM WITH THE PAST MISTAKES THAT THEY MADE, WHILE TRYING TO GET RID OF THE ONLY FAMILY HE HAS LEFT, CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN YOURSELF?" The greenhouse terminal AI asked.
So, the AI is well ware of Dr. K's attempt to separate my brother and I, that's nice to know, but what does it mean by trying to keep me alive for the past 4 months?
Last time I checked, I was practically fending for myself for the past 4 months, which wasn't a very easy task, thanks to the major inconveniences that the latex snow leopards gave me, along with odd noises coming from somewhere outside of the facility.
"It was the only way to push them forward in the right direction, and given the scenario, Andrew is already cured from the virus. But his brother on the other hand, might not be so lucky as he appears to be, the only chance Michael has, is to be transferred, if he is a carrier." Dr. K said.
A carrier, a carrier of what exactly? A virus, a disease, an illness, what exactly could Michael be a carrier of, and what does he mean by that I'm already cared from the virus?
I started to ponder about the information that I just heard, it was quite puzzling indeed, I know that my throat felt so itchy to the point that I started to cough like crazy, but now that I think about it, I didn't cough ever since I was no longer human… If these latex creatures are a cure to some disease, then why were they made to get rid of one's humanity, why couldn't they just use a vaccine or antibiotics?
I wanted to continue listening to the conversation Dr. K and the AI were having, unfortunately Michael got curious on what I was doing standing near the door.
"What are you doing?!" Michael interrupted rudely.
"The AI and Dr. K are talking about us, I'm trying to listen to their conversation to learn some useful information." I explained.
When Michael heard that, he pressed his ear right on the door as an attempt to listen to the conversation that's happening in the previous room.
“All I hear, is nothing but, vague muffled voices.” Michael said.
Darn, I forgot that his hearing is not as good as mine, I guess, I might have to, instruct him on how to improve his hearing through this, automatic closing door that looks like it came straight out of Star Trek.
“Maybe you should cup your hands onto your ears and move towards that weird crack on the door, you might be able to hear something from there, I hope.” I said.
Michael did exactly that unfortunately he was still unable to hear the words that Dr. K and the AI are saying to each other.
I know that they are talking about us but what if they're going to say something that's actually useful in our situation?
I remember that Michael had a hard time sitting still due to his ADHD, unfortunately in this situation it this fact alone made it virtually impossible to listen on to the conversation Dr. K the AI were having, darn.
Then suddenly, the announcement speakers turned on.
"You know it's very rude to eavesdrop on conversations that you're not a part of!" Dr. K said with anger in his voice.
Michael and I, felt a jolt down our spines and immediately turned around.
I looked at the security camera.
"What were you talking about with that AI?" I asked.
"The conversation that we were having is not your concern, failed experiment." Dr. K said in a very rude sounding voice.
Hearing this made me upset, I wanted to know what he means by Michael being a carrier of something, and me being cured of some virus Is it that pale virus mentioned in the Newspaper, or something else, I just don't know.
Michael was about to say something but of course Dr. K interrupted him. "I appreciate if you move forward across the room so I can finally show you the present that I have, "personally" made for you two hazards." Dr. K said in a very sarcastic sounding voice.
Me and Michael hesitated, knowing what this place and based off of past experiences there's a very good chance that there's gonna be an encounter with a very dangerous latex beast.
To be honest I was quite scared about what was going to happen, but when I look at Michael who is right beside me, it reminds me that, I don't have to do this alone.
We started to walk forward Across the room.
There was more orange GMO bushes along with A latex creature pertaining to be grass or shrubs.
The prototype came into the room from the door behind us, then started to walk towards a patch of flowers in front of us, and started to water them with a watering can.
As soon, as we went past the first row of GMO bushes, I felt bone chilling tension in the air, and I'm not the only one feeling that.
Some of the latex leaf lizards are hiding in the bushes desperately trying to stay out of sight, while shaking out of a large amount of fear.
Michael was hiding behind my tail as we continue to walk forward, why am I fur was standing on their ends making me look bigger than I actually am, my ears immediately rotating towards even the slightest of sounds.
My "heart" was pounding like crazy, it feels like that's something big and nasty can jump out at any moment.
I recall that there was a song that perfectly describes this feeling, in the video game called Super Metroid when you're about to counter a boss like Kraid or phantoon.
I never played the game Super Metroid but I always remember watching my dad playing it when I was 5, it is such a shame, that I barely remember any of it now.
We took a step forward and then we heard some kind of crow, which was actually a latex beast mimicking a crow.
The fake bird slam itself right into the window, which startled Michael and I, fortunately, the creature didn't pose any threat.
We walked into and out of another row of GMO bushes, and we saw a big puddle of white latex in front of us.
A tiny white latex blob, the most basic form of latex creatures.
At first, I thought Dr. K's surprise was nothing more than some big joke or bluff?
But then it started to grow bigger and bigger and bigger, until there was this big humanoid wolf sticking out of the floor made of white latex.
"As you can see, when there's a large amount mass of white latex on a large surface area, the latex creatures start to merge together and create this Behemouth as a result." Explained Dr. K.
Me and Michael looked at the giant behemoth out of pure dread.
"I just know that you two are going to have lots of fun with this big guy, and please do yourself a favor subject, and transfer yourself, I'm sure that you will be welcomed with open arms, and you will look a lot cuter as a fluffy latex beasts than a human." Dr. K said in a very teasing sounding voice towards Michael.
What he said really made me angry, like, how are we supposed to stand up to something big as that?!?
Why does Dr. K have to make everything so difficult to do, I don't see how this thing is going to push us in the right direction, this is nothing but some really big and annoying obstacle that is preventing our freedom from Thunder Science Laboratories.
No matter, all we have to do is defeat this oversized pile of milk pudding, right?
I got out my loose metal pipe from my body and started to hold it like a baseball bat, while Michael took out his makeshift knife out of the bag that I gave him, along with the soured oranges that I peeled for him.
But suddenly out of nowhere, a tiny gray latex squirrel popped out of the ventilation tubes that were suspended on the ceiling. It landed onto the behemoth and did a tiny little squeak.
The behemoth seem to be absolutely terrified for some reason... I didn't know why... until I started to sniff the air...
The scent of the gray squirrel latex beast had a similar to the scent of the extremely violent latex yellow jacket that I defeated a few months ago...
Then I realize that is the same creature that I smelled back at the library that was running around in the ventilation system, it was following us!?!
I think my "heart" skipped a beat when I realized that this thing was very hostile, but it looks harmless, the only kind of harm that it would be capable of, other than the obvious, is getting a lot of scratches and bite marks, which would be terrifying, but it won't kill somebody.
But then, it started to absorb the biomass of the behemoth!
The gray latex squirrel who increased in its size and started to morph itself into a very large and grotesque monstrosity.
Its arms increased into the size of tree trunks, to make it easier to smash things, it's head warped and oozed as it started to grow a second head coming out of its neck, its tail started to grow some kind of bony blade at it's end.
The creature adopted a gorilla-like posture as it continues to absorb the white latex.
The body of the creature was a mishmash of color, some parts of it were gray and the other parts of it were white.
I saw some white latex beasts attempting to escape from this monstrosity, unfortunately, it was already too late for them, they were already a part of it.
To be honest, this creature looked like that it came straight from the video game Dead Space.
I remember when I first came across that game, I was watching some youtuber doing a play through Of that game, and since I was very interested in all things sci-fi, especially when it comes to outer space, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more.
But then I learned that it was a horror game, the necromorphs startled me, to the point that I was starting to have cold sweat, I immediately stopped watching the video.
The beast let out a loud distorted roar, and started to attack!
Dr. K must of notice the situation that was going on, because, I noticed that the pipe, that was originally for the behemoth that he made, turned off.
The beast smashed oversized arm onto the ground which made the entire floor shake, knowing the fact that we're inside a building with a big brute force beast that might be able to break concrete send chills down my "spine".
Immediately use psychic paralysis on the beast, the beast suddenly was unable to move, which gave me a good opportunity to attack it with Psychic Frost, neutralizing the hostile creature, or so I thought.
Apparently, Psychic Paralysis only has a temporary effect that may vary from creature to creature, sometimes it takes hours for the effects to wear off, other times it only takes a few seconds to wear off, unfortunately for me, this is one of those cases where it lasts for a very short time, but of course I didn't know that until it was too late.
The Psychic Frost freezed the beast's entire body, while simultaneously taking the moisture in the air around the target making up large ice cube it look like some kind of Halloween themed popsicle that has some kind of monstrous action figure frozen inside.
I didn't know Psychic Frost had a secondary use other than to freeze objects, but to make ice around them too, which was kind of weird, but cool at the same time.
Michael started to walk closer towards the frozen creature, to get a better look at it.
Suddenly, the beast started to move again, the ice that surrounded the creature’s body started to break, as it tries to free itself from its ice cube prison.
It's two heads emerged out of the ice and started to simultaneously roar out of pure rage, giving it a very distorted and echoey sounding voice, which gave me chills down my metaphorical spine.
"MICHAEL, GET OUT OF THERE!!!" I yelled, when I notice that the creature was able to free its tail and attempted to stab Michael with the bony blade on the tip of its tail.
Fortunately, Michael jumped out of the away just in time, unfortunately for me, the creature was fully out of the ice block that I made around its body and started to lash out its rage at me!
I tried to use Psychic Paralysis again but, when the creature started to run towards me with relentless force, it shook the floor around me and throw off my balance.
The violent vibrations made me fall on my back, leaving me vulnerable to the creature who is now towering over me, it's eyes on both of its heads who are looking directly at me... it raised both of it's bulky and grotesque arms, punching them together in some kind of fist.
I tried to use Psychic Paralysis again, out of desperation for survival, unfortunately, it seemed to have very little to no effect at all!
I then tried to use Psychic Frost on it, I was able to freeze both of its fists together, unfortunately it seemed to make the creature even more enraged, as it brakes it's hands out of the ice that I made.
With little to no options left, I tried to get up and run away from this thing unfortunately, the creature seemed to notice that and stomped on my tail!
It was absolutely unbearable, it's like the time when you hit your tailbone while you're trying to sit, but 19 times worse.
I yelped out of pure pain and agony, I really thought I was going to get killed by this thing... despite that, I desperately tried to get away by pulling on my own tail, trying to pull it free.
But without any moments hesitation, the beast tried to crush me.
I closed my eyes, I couldn't even bear to see what's going to come next, wish I could move away from the attack...
The creature's fists slammed onto the ground with a very loud thud, but... somehow... I'm still alive?!?
I opened my eyes, I was behind the creature. I don't know how or why... it just happened... I just wanted to move out of the way and, I did.
At least I'm still alive, but we still have to take care of this thing.
I noticed that my loose pipe was conveniently right next to me on the floor, I picked it up and ran towards the beast.
Meanwhile, Michael was kind of standing there for some reason, I guess he's just as confused as I am. The monster seemed to notice that I was not crushed by its fists and tried to attack me with its bony bled on the tip of its tail.
I blocked it with my loose pipe and it immediately used Psychic Frost on its tail the tail of the creature froze and broke off under its own weight, the beast shrieked out of sheer pain and started to lash out at me again. But this time, I kept dodging its attacks somehow, it was really weird.
It felt like, that I'm asking my body to move out of the way, and my body responds by dashing out of the way of the attack.
The creature seemed to be very angry, that it couldn't hit me, so of course it starts to slam it's fists on the floor even harder. Then it started to grow more tails with a bony blade at the tip of them. The beast jumped and tried to stab me with them.
I of course, dodged the attack again, but the more that I think about it, it felt too instantaneous.
I was at point A to point B within a fraction of a second, even if something's blocking the path, when I'm doing this dodging thing, I simply pop up on the other side... like it was some kind of short distance teleportation.
Like that weird, biomechanical head crab like creature, from that nightmare that I had... I somehow gained the ability to teleport sort distances and increase my speed.
This gave me quite the edge to put against this giant beast, unfortunately though, this creature had more surprises for me.
It grew out extra pointed bladed limbs to increase its offensive capabilities.
As I continuously teleport all over the place.
Michael was still standing there for some reason, until he finally threw the makeshift knife that I gave him at the creature.
To my surprise, he actually sticks landing, makeshift knife that I gave him leaded right square on the forehead of the original head of the creature.
Unfortunately, the second head picked up the slack and continue to fight on, by tearing apart some pieces of metal from the ventilation system suspended on the ceiling and started to throw it add us!
It was also making a very disgusting growling sound while doing it.
I don't even know what to call this, thing, other than beast or creature, all I know that it wants to kill everything in sight.
I continue doing the teleporting, dodging from left to right, left to right, trying to find a good opening to actually harm this thing.
It felt very cool, using teleportation to dodge the pieces of metal the creature is throwing at us like it's some kind of extreme game of dodgeball.
Unfortunately, Michael doesn't have such luxury as teleportation, he got hurt while I was having too much fun with this new ability.
Fortunately, it was just a small scratch on his forearm, but I really shouldn't get ahead of myself like that, otherwise I might lose someone that's very close to me, again...
Now that I start thinking about it, Michael might just be the last human on the planet... I hope I'm wrong but, ever since I woke up and... well you know what happened, the only other human that I saw, was Michael.
Whether or not if Michael is the last human, I'm still going to do everything I can to protect him, I made a promise to him after all.
I continued to play extreme dodgeball with that creature, until I got close enough too teleport onto it, I pulled out the makeshift knife that Michael threw at it's original head, and stab its second head attached to its neck.
I thought, I finally killed this thing, but little did I know that damaging the head or the brain of the creature, doesn't kill it.
I learned that the hard way, when the beast grabbed me, and threw me onto the ground.
I was fortunately still alive, but yeesh did that hurt a lot, I can still feel the pain afterwards sometimes when I'm starting to think about it.
It felt like blistering fire are going into my chest and out of my back, I screamed in some kind of dog-like yelp.
And of course, it stomped right on my tail again, sheesh, this thing really likes to play unfair.
I was experiencing too much pain that it was very difficult for me to teleport away from the Beast.
Then I felt some kind of thing holding back, like some kind of sneeze but not… as the creature raised its fists attempting to squish me into some black goopy puddle, again, this feeling continued the build up until eventually, it just came out.
“GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!” I screamed with a very distorted and echoey voice that it sounded other worldly, as I shoot out some kind of fireball from my fingers.
The creature moved back, as it growls out of pain.
Apparently I gained this new Psychic ability called Pyrokinesis, it allows me to throw fire based projectiles at a hostile.
In other words, I can now do that annoying PK fire spam from Smash Bros.
I got back up on my feet, the creature appeared to be suffering from severe burns on its chest, the pain it seems to be experiencing was making it slower than it usually was.
Seeing how effective Pyrokinesis was on this creature, of course I use it again.
I did another weird hand gesture towards the creature, and another very interesting fireball and came out of it, the fireball in question looked very different from the typical one there was some kind of rhombus or diamond shaped object inside it.
The beast roared out as the flames engulfed around its body, the smoke alarm went off and activated sprinklers to put out the flames, but yet, the fire was not extinguished.
The flames dance around, as the beast hopelessly thrash its arms around as an attempt to put out the fire that's burning it's body, but to no avail, the fire will not go out.
The fire continued to spread all over the creature's body, but strangely, it didn't go to the wooden floor or any of the exotic plant GMOs, it was like, I was asking the fire to stay on and the hostile beast and not burn anything else, weird.
The beast made a loud roar, as it drew its final breath and finally turned into ashes.
As the flames die down, this hostile monstrosity, was finally dead.
Michael seemed to be extremely scared of what he just witnessed, his arms were shaking like crazy.
I sighed out of relief and started to walk towards him and say “Are you ok?”
Michael Immediately looked at me, with a frightened look on his face and asked “Wh-what was that thing!?!”
“To be honest, I have no flipping idea, I'm just glad that we're both alive.” I answered.
Of course, a very certain someone, had something to say about this.
“Well then, it seems that things didn't go exactly as planned, but at least something good came out of this experiment.” Said Dr. K with a slightly disappointed tone in his voice.
“And, what would that be exactly?” I asked while looking at the security camera, with an annoyed look on my mask.
“It's very simple actually, you two hazards, single handedly got rid of a creature that was quite the nuisance for me.
This thing was chewing up wires all over the facility which caused a second blackout to occur.
It was also the culprit responsible for destroying numerous sensitive equipment in the facility, but now since you killed it, you basically did a huge favor for me, without me needing to ask you to do the job in the first place.” Dr. K answered with a delighted sounding tone in his voice.
I really didn't like what he said, it makes me feel like that I'm just a tool for him to use, and to insult as well, and how does he know that this creature was responsible for breaking the equipment in the facility by chewing up the wires inside it, wait a second, he's been using the cameras, uhhhg, that was so obvious.
Wait, Dr. K was observing this thing for a long time, he might know exactly what it is, it is a long shot but it might work, or so I thought.
“Since we did a favor for you, can you do a favor for us, like I don't know, telling what the flip did we just killed?” I asked in angry but polite tone of voice.
“The information about this creature does not concern you failed experiment, but, I will give you this, I fear the ones who are responsible for creating it.
Now if you would excuse me for the moment, I need to prepare the next obstacle course for you two.” Dr. K answered.
Darn, I should have seen that coming, of course he's not gonna give any information, other than to annoy my brother and I to death.
Well at least there's nothing blocking our escape from this place, so, it would be a very good idea to move forward before something else blocks the way, again.
I never got a good chance to look around the room there since I was focusing on in staying alive while fighting against, that thing.
Michael and I started to walk forward but just before we were able to open the door and leave The greenhouse area.
The prototype a beeping to get our attention, when we turn around we saw that it was waving goodbye in a very adorable way, and to my surprise, the prototype actually said something. “GOOD... BYE…!”
That was really hard to warming, even though it didn't even help at all during the combat situation with that big creature, but at least it wasn't completely useless during our time in the greenhouse, but now is the time to move on.
End of part 4.
